BFF's

This is Sydney with her BFF, Sasha.  They get to see each and play together almost every day!  Sasha sits and stares from the window at her house, waiting for Sydney to come out and play.  When she sees Sydney, she barks and barks until her parents let her outside to play.  Sydney usually runs out to the driveway and just sits, watches, and waits for Sasha to come out and play.

They are always so happy and excited to see each other.  You have to be careful and steer clear from them when they are playing.  They will accidentally knock you over if you get too close.

This is Syndey getting some baby sugar from our cute neighbor, Alexa.

We like to call our neighbors the "A Team" since all of their names (except for Sasha) start with an "A."  We just love'em to pieces.  Alexa absolutely ADORES Brockeypoo.  I've never seen a kid want someone so much...when Brock is around, she doesn't want her parents, the puppies, nothing interests her except for Brock.  I guess he is her first crush!  :)

Here's baby Alexa with her two favorite men...Isn't she precious?

and here she is with her beautiful Mom...

I'm so very thankful that we have been blessed with such sweet neighbors; they have become some of our closest friends!

According to the doctor, Jodi was born to birth babies.  She was in labor for all of 15 minutes!!!  WOW!

Extremely excited and exhausted parents

Proud grandparents with their first little grandbaby!

Bailey Grace with her FAVORITE Aunts (heehee...she has like a million aunts...can we say spoiled rotten???)

Bailey Grace with her sweet Papa Rock and Mimi!  Look at how she's concentrating so intently to what her Papa Rock is saying...was then when he was secretly whispering Auburn cheers to her???  Yes, on Bailey's first day of life, her grandfather was already trying to teach her how to cheer for the orange and blue.  HAHA!

I do believe that Bailey Grace is quite possibly the most loved little girl on the planet!  She was completely covered in kisses on her first day of life.  We just couldn't get enough of that sweet baby sugar!!!

Here are the birthday girls!!!  Nothing beats receiving your first grandchild for your birthday!  What a special birthday present!

Here is the absolutely breathtaking sunset on Bailey's first day of life!

God is truly amazing!  Thank you for blessing our family with sweet Bailey Grace!!!

From Garden to Table...

I've never been much of a zucchini fan...until we started growing it in our very own garden!  Zucchini was the first thing to start popping up in the garden, and man have we been growing a lot of it!  We've gotten so much zucchini that we've been giving bags of it away to neighbors!
I googled some recipe ideas and stumbled upon one for zucchini bread - which I had never had.  I was not too sure what to expect.

Turns out, zucchini bread is AMAZING!  It is so good!  It's similar to banana bread, but better because it doesn't taste like banana (not a big banana fan!).
YUMMY!!!!  I definitely plan to make some more of this!
The best part about this tasty treat is that it came straight from our garden.

Summer Reading

Here's my reading list for the summer....yuck, right?

Here's what I wish was on my reading list for the summer!!!

Homegrown

The hubbster and I decided to start a garden this year!  Farmer Hubbster comes from a family of garden growers that offered lots of advice.  We have quite a large and unique backyard so building the garden was a bit of a challenge.  Our sweet neighbor brought his tractor over and helped us lay the cross-ties (man those things are heavy!), fill the garden with dirt (we shoveled tons of it too!), and he even made us a nice little dirt driveway leading to the garden.

Sydney was super excited about the garden too!

The puppies LOVE when we are outside working in the garden; that means they get lots of time to play outside!

Originally we planned to start our garden out kind of small so we could figure things out this first go around.  We wanted to plant all the different kinds of veggies that we buy at the grocey store.  We planted cucumbers, corn, jalapenos, bell peppers, watermelon, tomatoes, lettuce, green beans, strawberries, and blueberries!  We also planted a lot of flowers - zinnias, sunflowers, etc.  I can't wait to see them bloom!  Needless to say, our garden did not stay "small" like we intended.

It's hard work starting and caring for a garden, but it's been really exciting to watch our little seeds grow into yummy fruits, veggies, and flowers that we can harvest from our own backyard!  So far, we've been able to harvest and eat zucchini, strawberries, jalapenos, bell peppers, and tomatoes.  The flowers are getting really tall, but no blooms yet.  I'll be sure to keep ya posted.  Happy gardening!
